Update (11/7) Mountain View Drive Incident

The RHPD is actively searching for the vehicle involved in an indecent exposure incident last week and multiple sightings in our public school parking lots before school hours. This morning the suspect vehicle was observed in the parking lot of Stevens Elementary School and again engaged officers in a pursuit reaching speeds that were deemed unsafe to continue. The car is a black Lexus IS with dark tinted windows and a tinted windshield. The license plate on the back of the vehicle is BB 11505. There is no front license plate displayed. As a result, the RHPD has increased patrols in and around our school properties and police departments statewide have been made aware of the vehicle description. We are also aware of the level of community concern regarding these incidents. We are utilizing every available resource to address this vehicle and its operator. Please call 911 if you see this vehicle and do not attempt to approach the driver. Anyone with any information regarding this vehicle or the identity of the operator is asked to contact Detective Lehane at (860) 258-7640.

Please see today's update from Sergeant Steve Morgan, Public Information Officer for the Rocky Hill Police Department, regarding yesterday's incident on Mountain View Drive:
This morning at about 7:50 a.m. RHPD patrol officers observed a vehicle fitting the description of the vehicle suspected in yesterday’s indecent exposure incident driving on Mountain View Drive. Officers immediately attempted to pull the vehicle over; however, the vehicle did not stop. As the officers were attempting to stop the suspect, the speed of the suspects’ vehicle was deemed unsafe for the time of day, location, and amount of traffic per state statute. Information gathered from pursuing officers revealed that the license displayed on the rear of the vehicle is a Connecticut license plate BB 11505. This license plate had been reported stolen from the owner on 8/1/22. A photo of the vehicle is attached to this message. We are again asking anyone with any information regarding this vehicle to contact the RHPD at (860) 258-7640 and reference case number 22-37661.
On behalf of the school district, we certainly appreciate the efforts of our local police department to keep us informed about this ongoing investigation. Please remain vigilant at all times and report any suspicious activity to your local authorities.

Dear Parents/Guardians and Staff Members,
Earlier today, two secondary school students reported that an adult male suspect, parked in a dark colored vehicle on Mountain View Drive in the proximity of the high school tennis courts, was engaged in indecent exposure. This alleged incident is currently under active investigation by the Rocky Hill Police Department (RHPD). In response to this situation, the RHPD will be increasing patrols in the vicinity of our schools. While nobody should ever be subjected to witnessing this type of conduct, we commend our students for reporting this information to school officials and our police partners.
This incident underscores the importance of maintaining an awareness of one’s surroundings at all times. While this appears to be an isolated event, it is important for all members of our school community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to school officials and/or our RHPD school resource officers.
